John PooleSenior Vice President of Sales & Destination Services
Returning to the area after managing an eight-room bed and breakfast and fine dining restaurant in Maine for three years, Poole previously held the position of Director of Sales & Marketing at Great Wolf Lodge Charlotte/Concord. From 2007 to 2009, he held the same position at Great Wolf Resorts' Grand Mound, WA location. Poole has also held several other positions in sales and marketing across the country and abroad at resorts and hotels in Canada, Puerto Rico, St. Thomas and Charleston, SC.
A native of Ontario and Vancouver, BC resident, Poole is a graduate of New Brunswick College. He also received an Associates Degree from San Diego Golf Academy and has completed several hospitality programs with Westin Hotels and Resorts and Orient Express Hotels & Resorts.
Poole has had longtime involvement with many hospitality industry associations including Meeting Planners International, Society of Incentive Travel Executives, Professional Conference Management Association and Rotary Club.
Chacara Harvin, CMPDestination Services Manager
Chacara Harvin joined the Cabarrus County team in 2014 with 12 years of experience in the hospitality industry. Harvin graduated from Johnson & Wales University (JWU) in Charleston, SC with an Associate's degree in Travel & Tourism Management. She transferred to the JWU N. Miami, FL campus to complete her Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management. While studying at JWU, Chacara studied abroad in Bruges, Belgium and planned several FAM Tours including London, England, Netherlands, & Prague Czech Republic.
She later obtained a Master's degree in Business and Marketing from University of Phoenix. Harvin has also served as a Catering Manager for FDY, Inc. in Charlotte, NC.
In 2015, she earned the second of three certificates from the Southeast Tourism Society's Marketing College program to become certified as a Travel Marketing Professional (TMP). Harvin was recognized by Toastmasters International as a Competent Communicator and is also an active member of the Event Service Professionals Association (ESPA) where she serves on the annual conference committee. Chacara is a frequent hospitality program guest speaker at Johnson & Wales University in Charlotte. In 2017, Harvin was presented with the Annual William H. Just CAE, CMP Memorial Award by ESPA in Austin, Texas.
Stephanie JachymDestination Services Coordinator
Stephanie Jachym joined the Cabarrus County CVB in October 2014 as a Travel Counselor in the Visitor Center. Prior to becoming part of the Visitor Services team, she joined her sister in a business venture with EvanGrace Events and Bridal in Historic Downtown Concord working with up to 118 events and clients per year.
Stephanie graduated from Western Carolina University in 2013 with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration for Entrepreneurship with a concentration in Hospitality and Management. During her time at WCU, Stephanie served as Vice President of the National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH) recognizing outstanding service and leadership.
