The colors of a full field of race cars come alive this season in North Carolina’s ultimate motorsports destination

(November 16, 2015) – Concord, NC – From an illuminated superspeedway to a laser light show in the hometown of a NASCAR legend, The Cabarrus County Convention and Visitors Bureau invites travelers put a Speed City spin on traditions this year.

At Exit 49 off of I-85, the area’s premier holiday light show and the largest shopping and entertainment destination in the Carolinas are situated less than a mile from 12 hotel properties—including one with snow showers inside the lobby!

Racing under the lights isn’t just for NASCAR at Charlotte Motor Speedway! Run at your own pace on the same superspeedway as stock car greats this weekend at the Egg Nog Jog 5K on November 21. Following the Egg Nog Jog, Speedway Christmas returns for the sixth year. Recognized as a Top 20 Event by the Southeast Tourism Society, Speedway Christmas features over 3 million lights throughout the redesigned 3.5-mile course. Create unforgettable memories as you drive on the frontstretch of legendary Charlotte Motor Speedway with synchronized lights-to-music dancing in the grandstands above. The Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony with fireworks on November 20 and 87th Annual Concord Christmas Parade on November 21 highlight holiday events in Historic Downtown Concord.
